The Challenge
While walking down the turbine for a job site survey, James noticed a dusty, non-functioning Flowserve actuator sitting on a pallet beside the turbine. The maintenance manager didn’t know it was there. Once informed, the facility realized it was their only spare, already removed from the steam turbine.
The Solution & Results
Avanti Power Components proposed taking the actuator back to our shop for a complete teardown and rebuild. Using our vendor connections, we obtained new factory parts to restore the unit and bring it up to modern specifications. The work cut potential outage time and cost for the facility.
Facility management can sleep better knowing that there is a brand-new functional spare actuator on their shelf in case that one in-service fails.
